Irrigation Pipes

Are you aware that many irrigation installation companies use cheap parts that can end up costing you a lot of time, aggravation, and money?

Imagine having an irrigation system installed today, and a year from now (just after your warranty expires), you find out that the pipes buried in your lawn leading to the sprinkler heads have become brittle from the heat, have started shattering when you do something as simple as mowing your grass. Not only do you have to spend a lot of money replacing them, you could end up with a "huge" water bill -- all because the company who installed the irrigation pipes tried to cut corners and increase their profits.

At Triton Irrigation Systems, we use only quality parts and pipes.

Why are irrigation pipes so important? They carry water between the source, pumps, valves, and sprinklers. Most irrigation installation companies, as well local supply stores, sell a residential grade pipe, called a Class 160. These are thin-walled, brittle pipes that break easily. When they are hit with a shovel, they shatter in much the same way as a fluorescent light bulb, increasing repair bills. Rather than replacing a 6-inch length of pipe, you may have to replace a 3-6 foot length. Additionally, because of the way the Class 160 pipes break, you may have a significant leak without knowing it, and you may run up a $1000 water bill. And the water companies are not forgiving. Class 160 pipes also don’t last very long, and they need to be replaced after a very short time.

Schedule 40 pipes are commercial grade pipes; they are very thick-walled pipes that are typically used for above ground piping. These pipes, though extremely durable, restrict the amount of water that runs through them. Many irrigation companies only offer Schedule 40 or Class 160.

We provide a third option for our clients: Class 200 pipes. These pipes have thicker walls than the residential, brittle Class 160 pipes, yet are more cost-effective and efficient than Schedule 40 pipes. They do not shatter as easily when hit, and they last much longer than Class 160. Why do we use them? They are high quality pipes, and we want only the best for your system.
